Taylor Swift may be one of the biggest musicians in the world today, but she had to get her start somewhere — and iHeartRadio's Anne Hudson was there to help make it happen.
In celebration of National Radio Day on August 20, the radio host detailed how the Life of a Showgirl singer was the most "unforgettable" guest she's ever spoken with in her career. She recalled speaking with Swift "before anyone really knew who she was" when she was around 16 years old and had recently released her debut single "Tim McGraw."
"She came on the show, she sang 'Picture to Burn,' which no one had heard yet, I don't even think she had an album out yet. And I was just so impressed with her," she said. "It seems cliché now 'cause she's a bona fide superstar, but I remember at the time thinking this girl is going to be so famous. Like, she is the most amazing thing ever."
Hudson still feels a connection to the "Fortnight" hitmaker years later, watching her grow into the artist she has become, noting how she is "still just so proud of her."
"I feel like I was there from the beginning," she added. "She has no idea who I am but I love her and am proud of her."
Listen to Hudson recap highlights and challenges from her career in the video below.
