Glen Powell Reveals How Intense New Role Made Him ‘Black Out’

Glen Powell put blood, sweat and tears into his latest performance, resulting in a "wild" health scare.

Speaking to E! News, Powell revealed that he took his role in the upcoming Hulu series Chad Powers so seriously that the blacked out during the intense filming process. On the show, Powell portrays a disgraced college quarterback who dons prosthetics to disguise himself in order to join a new team. As such, the actor was faced with not just the FX and increased adrenaline but also the Atlanta heat while filming a scene where he running "several football plays down the field," a combination that caused an unintended effect.

"I'm wearing a helmet and a wig and the mask, and I'm running this football play over and over and over," he said, adding, "I got to the end of it, I throw this touchdown. I scream and I black out."

The Anyone But You star confirmed that he remained upright and standing despite "no longer [being] there mentally" and was met with a camera and "an entire field full of football players looking" at him when he came to. Fortunately, he was able to move past the "crazy" experience and continue filming without further scares.

Powell also recently appeared on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast where he opened up about a "gruesome" dating fail he experienced when he was younger that he said "really summed up my love life for the next like while."
