Callum Turner meeting his now-fiancée Dua Lipa was totally something out of a Hallmark movie.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Turner shared that he met Lipa at a mutual friend's birthday in Los Angeles. He explained, "We sat next to each other and realised we were reading the same book, which is crazy. It’s called Trust [by Hernán Díaz] and I had just finished the first chapter and I told her and she looked at me and said, 'I just finished the first chapter too.'"
This set up him up really nicely for the best pick-up line as he added, "I said, 'So we're on the same page.'" He continued, "In the movie version of it I look up to the sky and I’m like, I hear you. I understand. The signs are loud, don’t worry. And that was really the first [moment]."
Dua Lipa and Callum Turner first made headlines as a couple in early 2024, and by June 2025, the pop star confirmed the couple’s engagement in a British Vogue cover story, expressing that the moment felt like the start of a life built on friendship and shared dreams. She described the decision to “grow old together” as “a really special feeling,” ruling out any rush toward a wedding while they both focus on thriving in their respective careers. Turner, for his part, chimed in more recently, saying his hope for their future is simple: "just be together, forever," as he explained on a red carpet speaking to eTalk.
