Don't tell Halsey what to do.
The Badlands singer, 31, hit back at a heckler during their Monday (November 3) show at MGM Music Hall in Boston who reportedly said they should "stop talking and play," per People. According to fan videos shared online, Halsey was talking to the crowd when a member of the audience shouted out, and she was quick to ask them "who the f--- do you think you're talking to?"
"You think you're tough s--- because you're from Boston? I'm from Jersey, baby, I'll whoop you a--. My dad's from Boston, my mom's from Jersey — that basically makes me a f---ing demon," they said as the crowd cheered along. "I'm gonna play whatever the f--- I wanna play. In case you didn't hear me correctly, I almost f---ing died to be on this stage. I'm going to play whatever the f--- I wanna play."
After the show, Halsey appeared to address the situation in a post on X, writing, "I've been polite but won't be caught dead letting a man tell me what I should play in my set."
The exchange came hours after Halsey revealed they had spent the night in the ER in Boston after experiencing a "minor medical emergency." Though the musician didn't specify what landed them in the hospital, she previously shared that they were diagnosed with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022 and even recently had "another few sessions" of chemotherapy.
